Here's the latest idea to prevent spam e-mail. Yahoo and AOL are going to begin charging from one-quarter of a cent to one cent for every e-mail you send. They will still accept e-mail from non-paying customers but the ones who pay will be giving special treatment. This program should be ready to launch in a few months.

I think it sucks. If it ever happens.
I think it's going to be really interesting to see how, exactly, the billing will be handled. Think about it. Say you're a multimillion dollar corporation who has no problem signing up for an account to pay for all your email to AOL and Yahoo.
And someone starts spoofing your corporate addresses...
This whole idea is not nearly as clear-cut as it seems.
